TBR & Wrap-Ups

July Wrap Up!

I had 9 books on my July TBR.
I read 5 books this month, and only 2 were on my TBR.
So obviously, I cannot be trusted to stick to any sort of goals.
But let’s jump into the 5 books I did read!

Tiny Pretty Things by Dhonielle Clayton & Sona Charaipotra – Goodreads – 3.5/5 Stars
Shiny Broken Pieces by Dhonielle Clayton & Sona Charaipotra – Goodreads – 3.5/5 Stars

— I really enjoyed this duology. I loved the diversity in it. I loved the high school ballet drama. I loved how each of our main three girls are  all very different. I didn’t like any of the guy/boyfriend characters at all. Each girl was going through a hardship, and I thought all three were done very well.

— The main thing I didn’t like the ending of the second book. Things were kind of left open ended. Like the authors could come back to it and write another book featuring a year of them all dancing in the company after school. Which I would read, but I don’t think it’s going to happen.

— This duology talks about Eating Disorders, Pill Addiction, Suicide, and the horrible side effects of student/teacher romances. All while keeping up with the competition drama that happens between dancers. I just really enjoyed reading this.

The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han – Goodreads – 4/5 Stars
It’s Not Summer Without You by Jenny Han – Goodreads – 4/5 Stars
We’ll Always Have Summer by Jenny Han – Goodreads – 5/5 Stars

— I read this whole trilogy in a day during the @24hourathon! I loved it. It was so fast paced, and is definitely a series to read to get you out of a reading slump. The love triangle was expected, but done well-ish. The writing was not the best that I’ve ever read. But I was so deeply invested in the characters. I love character-driven books, so this was right up my  alley. It tugged at my heart strings, I almost cried at one point. I just really enjoyed this quick, easy, summer read.

Life Updates!

— I started a new full time job that uses my degree! I’m so happy about it. I can’t wait to see what’s in store.
— I saw Spider-Man: Homecoming twice. And then bought 2 Funko Pops of Tom Holland/Spider-Man. I just love him so much.
— I’m watching and loving Big Brother 19. How has this show been on this long. I hate most of the people in the house now, but I’ll probably watch it through till the end. Cause it’s basically the only TV Show I’m watching at the moment.
— I watch Season 4 of Degrassi: Next Class. I also think this is the last season, maybe? The final episode made it seem like it. I really enjoyed it. I was there was some way to rewatch episodes of Degrassi: Next Generation though. Boo.
— I rewatched Anastasia for the first time in yearssss. I loved it, obviously. It’s on Netflix if you want to rewatch it!
— I have played Kesha’s Praying on repeat since the day it came out.

Goals for August:
— Read 5 books!
— Instagram -almost- everyday!
— Post 10 Blog Posts!

Hopefully, I’ll be able to keep those goals, and you all will see more posts on here from me soon!
Thank you again for following and dealing with my absence. Once I get a handle on my new job, I’m sure the blog will be back in full swing.
In the meantime, I post on my Instagram everyday, so be sure to check me out there!
