Fierce Fangirl Friday – After Laughter – Paramore

BUT I want to fangirl over Paramore’s new album After Laughter. 🙂

I’m a day late! But let’s jump into my love of Paramore.

Let’s just start at the beginning. I’ve loved Paramore since the MySpace days. I remember posting a status about how they were performing in Nashville on my birthday that year and jokingly asking if anyone would take me. That had to be in 2008 or so. Right when Riot! was huge, during my Twilight days when they also did a song for the Twilight album. Loved it! Everyone knows about Misery Business and Riot! Though. My favorite definitely song on this album has to be For A Pessimist, I’m Pretty Optimistic.

I also asked my mom numerous times if I could dye my hair like Hayley Williams. Orange is my favorite color, and it just blew my Freshman mind that I could have orange hair. My mom said no every single time though. Lol.

Of course we have to talk about the debut album, All We Know is Falling. Pressure is still one of my favorite songs 12 years later. Never Let This Go is also one of my many favorites. You guys, you just have to listen to it. It’s amazing and has held up so well over the years.

Then my favorite album of theirs came out in 2010. Brand New Eyes. You guys. This album. I can’t form complete sentences, I loved this album so much. I listened to this CD so much Senior Year of high school. I consider myself a dreamer most days. So the lines from Brick by Boring Brick meant so much to me. I played this song on repeat so much that the little boy I took to school in the mornings started singing along and then saying smartass things about it. Lol. But I still can’t get over this album. I loved Brand New Eyes so much.

THEN their self-titled album came out in 2013. After break ups and drama. I bought this whole album the day it dropped on iTunes. But I think it’s my least favorite of them, unfortunately. The only song I actually love is (One of Those) Crazy Girls. The rest of the album is good. Just not as amazing as the rest of them. I also really like the song Anklebiters. I think I quoted it a lot on Facebook back in the day.

NOW we have been blessed with After Laughter. So far I think I’ve listened to the album 4 or 5 times fully. I have to say that my favorite song is Fake Happy. It connects to what’s going on in my life at the moment and I just love it. I also really like Forgiveness. I like how there’s a song or two that Hayley doesn’t actually sing on. It’s great. I love it. Every song sounds so different from the last, but yet the whole album works amazingly together.

I would love to see them in concert someday.
I would also still love to dye my hair bright orange.
Accountants don’t like that though, so my hair color will remain boring brown.
