Welcome to The Friday 56!
Hosted by Freda at Freda’s Voice (fredasvoice.com)
RULES: -Grab a book, any book. – Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader
-Find any sentence (or a few, be sure not to spoil anything)
–I finished reading Sparrow by LJ Shen the other day, and really enjoyed it. I gave it 4/5 stars, so be sure to check it out in my March Reading Wrap-up. Here’s a quote from 56% into the E-book.
“”I never unpacked,” she replied with boredom.
“The fuck not?”
“I knew we’d be back in Boston in twenty-four hours. This isn’t a honeymoon.” I heard the bitterness. “Like everything else in your life, Troy, this was nothing but business.”
Book Beginnings is a perfect tie-in to The Friday 56. Check out http://www.rosecityreader.com/ for more info. But all you do is post the beginning sentence of a book, and your thoughts on it. Super simple!
Prologue: “Silence. The most loaded sound in human history.”
Chapter One: “”Is it possible to feel your heart breaking, even if you’ve never fallen in love?” I stared back at the woman in the mirror, chewing on my lower lip until the tender flesh cracked. I looked like a stranger.”
